Skill: Communicate 3.2.1 The Newsletter Quest

Identify three highly effective methods of communicating with stakeholders and create an artifact for each utilizing the resources outlined throughout the module and discuss the topic in your blog.

News Announcement

News announcements are an easy way to communicate information quickly to students.  They are easy to make, only up for a few days, and can be funneled for a specific group of people if needed.   I made this news announcement welcoming my 14-week students into class.  It will populate into their class the week before it starts and no other section group will see it.

Newsletter
A newsletter, like one made in Smore, is a great way to bring in lots of information in one place.  It is a good place to add visuals that both parents and students will see. The downside is there is no guarantee that all stakeholders will see this communication.  Here is a newsletter I wrote and sent to student and parents about ways to improve grades in the class.  You can read the newsletter HERE.

Email –

Email is probably the easiest and most direct way to communicate with all stakeholders. It is an easy way to update parents, students, and facilitators about progress. If the email is used with the LMS it is an easy way to ensure that the communication did go where it was supposed to go. Here is an email I write reminding students about their first due date.
