Skill: Navigate 2.1.4 – Lecture Capture Quest

Address the following questions in your blog concerning Lecture Capture:

How would the resource function in the online classroom?

Lecture Capture is a great tool for students and teachers alike. I found a great article a 7 Things You Should Know about Lecture Capture" which helped me see the positives to Lecture Capture. I loved the idea of Lecture capture as stated in the article, "Lecture capture enhances and extends existing instructional activities, whether in face-to-face, fully online, or blended learning environments" and being able to use a product in so many ways makes it so versatile.

In the online classroom Lecture Capture allows students who cannot attend synchronous sessions the opportunity to view lectures, reviews, etc at their own time and pace. Often students need to rehear a lecture, so Lecture Capture is a great tool to be able to provide students a 'repeat' of what they just learned. In a face-to-face class, Lecture Capture would be great for absent students; students who need to rehear the lecture or need to go at a slower pace

How would the integration of Lecture Capture modify teaching methods?

It would allow teachers to record sessions at their convince instead of a set time and students could listen to them at any point that they wanted to. Lecture Capture has the ability to help  all types of learners. Auditory learners could listen to recordings over and over again, or repeat sections for clarification. Being able to turn the computer screen into a whiteboard can help visual learners by being able to stop, pause, and restart a lecture/demonstration. For a science class - labs and demonstrations are an integral part of learning. Lecture Capture can make it so that no student ever has to miss one of the key components of the class.
