Discuss the experiences with this quest and the process of recording a session. Was the task easy? Challenging? Did the process present problems? Document the responses and general reflections on synchronous learning and the recorded session in your blog.
I currently teach for GaVS and use Adobe Connect each week
for my synchronous sessions, I have attached a couple of past posts.
I think the most difficult part
of synchronous sessions is feeling lonely Many of
my students take online classes because their schedules are so
varied. Having a synchronous session that students can commit
to come to is hard. I usually have success with student’s participation
when I am reviewing for the final exam. Other times attendance tends to be low
and lonely. teaching requires more that just lecturing - it requires
a dialogue between teacher and student for contest checking of
information. When I am recording sessions, and no one is present I try and
anticipate questions that students might have. But often I feel funny
asking a question I know the answer to.
Adobe connect is fairly easy to use, the thing I dislike
about it is when you have more than one person using the microphone, there can
be some feedback issues, so most students just type questions in the chat
box.
